Vice President of Business Development

"Be your best self every day, and challenge yourself
to push your limits."

- Abigail Hill

Those are the words that Abigail Hill lives by – and she's bringing them to life as Vice President of Business Development at Elite Surgical Affiliates. In this role, she's heading new business development efforts to increase productivity at the company's numerous surgery centers – both existing and in the pipeline.

Abigail, who joined the company in 2011, says she found the opportunity to apply her clinical knowledge, as well as her previous sales and management experience, to a new aspect of healthcare – namely development – was exceptionally appealing.

"Joining the Elite team gives me a chance to continue striving for optimal patient outcomes – all while working alongside some of the 'best of the best' in the industry," said Abigail, noting the company is known for having Houston's top physicians among its ranks, as well as a management team that's second to none.

Abigail brings a wealth of clinical experience to her current role – having worked for six years as a registered nurse in intensive care units (ICUs) at leading healthcare institutions in Ohio and California. The facilities included Ohio's Mount Carmel Medical Center and Grant Medical Center, as well the San Francisco and San Diego campuses of the University of California.

During her employment at Grant Medical Center she was awarded the 2006 Prism Award for Outstanding Performance, as well as nominated for a Ring of Quality Award. Abigail says she's most proud of the fact that her efforts as a registered nurse were recognized. "It means that the hard work and effort that I put into patient care on a day-to-day basis did not go unnoticed – a phenomenon that occurs all too often in the field of nursing," said Abigail, who earned her bachelor's degree from Mount Carmel College of Nursing.

Abigail's "winning streak" continued when she moved into sales and management positions with ArthroCare Sports Medicine. As a Clinical Specialist for the Midwest Region, she well exceeded her quota time and time again – all while growing sales by 630 percent in one year's time. Shortly after being promoted to Territory Manager, Abigail was ranked No. 1 in the nation after the first nine months, and grew her territory 153 percent year over year. She cites working closely with surgeons and the salesforce as reasons for her standout performance.

Abigail, who describes herself as tenacious, focused, hands-on, goal-oriented and adaptable, says that being appointed to represent the sizeable ArthroCare salesforce at the annual National Field Advisory Counsel meeting on two separate occasions was "an extreme honor."

When asked what success looks like at Elite, Abigail said, "To have existing Elite facilities fully syndicated at 100 percent – all while staffed with happy surgeons, packed with full surgery schedules, and optimized patient outcomes."

"I believe that success breeds success," continued Abigail. "It's nothing short of an honor to be part of such a dynamic team that's truly making a difference for physicians and patients alike in the greater Houston medical community."
